Your boat should not live in somebody else’s database.
BoatWorks Pro stores records locally and syncs through your own Apple account. There is no BoatWorks login, no BoatWorks record server and no in-app advertising or tracking.
Useful without signal
Core vessel records live locally instead of requiring a round trip to a web service every time you open them.
Apple handles sync
When enabled, private CloudKit storage syncs your records under your Apple Account—not an account with us.
No behavioral profile
The app contains no analytics SDK, advertising network or third-party tracking code.
What “no app-imposed document quota” means
BoatWorks Pro does not meter your manuals, receipts, certificates and service photos against a 1 GB vendor allowance. The practical boundary is the storage available on your iPhone or iPad and, when sync is enabled, the capacity of your iCloud plan.
That is more accurate than saying storage is literally infinite. Large files still occupy real space; the important difference is that BoatWorks Pro does not create an artificial subscription quota between you and storage you already control.
What stays local
- Vessel and machinery records
- Maintenance tasks and completed history
- Fuel, inventory and provisions
- Trip entries, GPS positions and photos
- Manuals, invoices, receipts and certificates
What contacts the internet
Live features still need their source. WeatherKit, National Weather Service alerts, NOAA tides, map tiles and barcode lookup services receive the request necessary to answer it. BoatWorks Pro does not receive a copy. See the full privacy policy for providers and details.
Sharing without a new identity system
You can explicitly invite a crew member through Apple’s CloudKit sharing. You control the share and can revoke it. Nearby devices can also exchange vessel updates over the local network or Bluetooth when internet service is unavailable.
